RRSPs
An RRSP is a government approved plan through which you save money for your retirement. Your contributions, within limits, are tax deductible, and the income earned is tax sheltered until it is withdrawn (usually at retirement). Investment options for your RRSP includes a variable rate, fixed terms of 1-5 years and mutual funds*.
Pay yourself first!
By setting up a convenient Pre-Authorized Contribution (PAC) Plan and making regular monthly or bi-weekly RRSP contributions, you can avoid the last minute rush to find the money for next year’s RRSP contribution. You can arrange to have your contribution transferred automatically from your account the day you get paid so that you hardly even miss the money. This way, your money can start working for you by earning interest sooner.
