Through our long-term commitment to corporate social responsibility, we look for ways to broaden our focus on community, environment, and volunteerism.

Scholarships

Access Credit Union ScholarshipThe 2024 Access Credit Union "Tell us Your Story " Scholarship Program is designed to reward students who align with our values of integrity, service, innovation, and opportunity. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of applicant character and values. Access Credit Union will award three $5,000, and four $2,500 scholarships in 2024.

Each community has unique needs, so we carefully select donation and sponsorship opportunities that promote health, well-being, and support life-long learning.

Eligible projects that further the strategic goals of community investment for Access Credit Union include, but are not limited to, activities in any of the following fields of interest:

Arts and Culture
Education
Environment
Health and Welfare
Sports and Recreation

In awarding investment, particular consideration is given to innovative projects which engage in one or more of the following activities:

Capital projects
Contributing to strengthening the community, especially by encouraging the participation of diverse groups and individuals
Building effective partnerships within the community

Note: Sponsorship for youth sporting associations will be considered; individual teams are not eligible for sponsorship.

As an organization, we are restricted from providing funding toward the following:

Organizational operations funding
Deficit reduction
Retroactive funding

No donations are permitted to individuals, political parties, advocacy groups, public relations firms, activists, lobbyists, or organizations previously convicted of fraud, involved in illegal activities, or have questionable financial management.

Donations & Sponsorships

Access Credit Union has a rich history of giving back to our community. We support a variety of community events, projects, and programs that contribute to the social, economic, and environmental well-being of the communities where we live and work. Our core values include a donation policy, as well as many hours of employee volunteerism in various community organizations and events.

Please note that as our community team strives to respond to requests in a timely manner, we encourage 3-4 weeks notice to ensure we have the appropriate time to review and respond to requests.

Deadline for requests are December 1 of each year.

Financial Literacy

We use tools and resources to give our employees, members, and the wider community the knowledge and skills they need to achieve financial success.

We are proud to offer 16 different financial literacy workshops to help increase financial knowledge and prepare for life's biggest events.

Our highly trained staff can administer 60 - 90 minute workshops to your school, business, or organization.

All workshops are offered in easy-to-understand language, without any ties to products and services, and with the sole goal of empowering individuals to make the right financial decisions.

Community Involvement

We're happy to help out in our communities, and we encourage our employees to volunteer their time and expertise to charitable/non profit organizations.

Access Credit Union is excited to be a part of your communities whenever possible. Our pancake trailer makes regular rounds throughout the year at various communities and we're always eager to participate in events, fundraisers, and festivals throughout Manitoba.
